About Me
My intellectual background was shaped by my MA at King’s College London and my PhD at Cardiff University, where I developed a lasting interest in people: how they think, how they behave, and what makes them click.
This curiosity has always driven my work. As a trained academic, historian of modern France, and consultant in higher education and corporate business, I have consistently asked how rigorous academic thinking can be translated into concrete value for businesses, institutions, and professional teams.
My career spans academia and high-stakes professional environments, bringing together the analytical depth of doctoral research with the operational demands of legal, financial, and institutional strategy. I work across research, public speaking, editing, training design, workshops, and strategic corporate projects.
Across all these areas, I combine intellectual rigour with rapid synthesis, clear judgment, and practical delivery. My work is academically grounded, professionally sharp, and focused on impact.
My offer spans across two core pillars: academic and corporate.
Corporate Speaking
I am regularly invited to keynote and speak at a wide range of corporate events, including leadership retreats, executive seminars, strategy days, professional development programmes, and team workshops, always with with wit, humour, creativity, and passion.
My talks focus on the human side of organisations: leadership, motivation, behavioural science, workplace culture, emotions at work, communication, trust, and cross-cultural collaboration. I translate academic insight into clear, engaging, and practical ideas that help teams understand how people think, work, connect, and perform.
I have worked with clients across a wide range of high-stakes sectors, including the military, pharmaceutical, banking, legal, higher education, and corporate sectors. This cross-sector experience allows me to adapt complex behavioural and organisational insights to very different professional cultures, from highly regulated environments to fast-moving strategic teams.
Recent themes include:
- Motivation beyond money: autonomy, meaning, recognition, fairness, and belonging
- Leadership presence without performance theatre: authority, warmth, and clarity
- Cross-cultural intelligence in global teams: moving beyond stereotypes toward better collaboration
- Team purpose and collective energy: how groups move from compliance to commitment
- Building resilient, reflective, and high-performing teams in demanding environments
University Training Sessions
I offer training at the intersection of AI, digital humanities, and ethics in academic life, designed for undergraduates, postgraduates, early-career researchers, and academics.
My regular seminars and lectures cover topics such as how to use AI responsibly and effectively, Doing the PhD, survival techniques for early-career researchers, using technology for data collection and analysis, and Python for academic work. I also offer tailored courses on AI detection, academic integrity, and the changing role of digital tools in research, teaching, and assessment.
My clients include universities, academic associations, research groups, and individual scholars across disciplines. My training combines broad knowledge, clarity, intellectual depth, humour, and a strong sense of audience engagement, creating sessions that are both sophisticated and accessible.
Academic Editing & Proofreading services
In addition to my own academic research, I offer academic editing and proofreading for academics at different career stages, from postgraduate researchers to established scholars. I have the scholarly expertise to edit work on topics related to language, politics, history, culture, and regional studies across different geographical contexts.
I bring a strong sensitivity to language, argumentation, academic voice, and intercultural nuance. My work is shaped by my experience in language acquisition, self-reflexivity, and cross-cultural communication. In addition to excellent fluency in French, Spanish, and German, I am also interested in learning new languages, including Arabic.
My clients include scholars, universities, research institutions, and a wide range of prestigious academic publishers, including Oxford University Press.
